Meet the Lacorine Artisans

Skill shaped by time and practice

Behind every Lacorine piece is the knowledge and experience of skilled artisans in Peru. Their expertise is not the result of mass production, but of years spent refining techniques passed down through generations.

We work in close collaboration with these artisans, valuing precision, patience, and a deep understanding of fibre and form.

A Tradition of Making

Textile craftsmanship in Peru is closely tied to place and community. Spinning, weaving, knitting, and finishing are skills learned gradually, shaped by environment and tradition.

These methods require time and attention — qualities that cannot be rushed or replicated at scale. They are essential to achieving the softness, structure, and longevity that define our collections.

Working in Partnership

Our approach is collaborative rather than transactional. We work with small workshops and artisan groups, building long-term relationships based on trust, consistency, and shared values.

By producing in limited quantities, we support skilled labour and allow space for careful workmanship at every stage.

Respect for People and Process

We believe respect extends beyond the finished piece. Fair working conditions, safe environments, and recognition of skilled labour are fundamental to how we work.

Rather than focusing on volume, our partnerships prioritise quality, stability, and mutual benefit.

Craft with Purpose

Each piece reflects not only the material it is made from, but the hands that shaped it. Through considered collaboration and traditional techniques, we aim to preserve craftsmanship while creating garments suited to modern life.

Craftsmanship endures when skill is valued, time is respected, and making is approached with intention.
