At Lacorine, we believe that true success isn’t just measured by the products we create, but also by the support and care we offer to our team. As a company, we’re not just a collection of artisans and workers—we’re a family, and the well-being of every individual within this family is a top priority. Our ethos revolves around fostering a supportive and empathetic environment, especially when it comes to mental and physical health challenges.

Lacorine’s Philosophy Surrounding Mental Health

At Lacorine, we take a holistic approach to the well-being of our team. Our artisans are part of the Lacorine Family, and we truly believe in caring for one another both professionally and personally. Antonia, one of our core team members, maintains personal connections with everyone, checking in to make sure that each team member feels supported, heard, and valued.

We live by the principle that ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’, ensuring the lines of communication are always open. Whether it's a challenge at work or in life, our team knows that they have a space to talk openly about their struggles. Lacorine’s job isn’t just to lend a sympathetic ear but also to help find practical solutions. We believe in creating an environment where support and understanding lead to meaningful change, both in personal well-being and professional productivity.

A Family Work Ethic: Nurturing, Sharing, and Supporting

Lacorine’s artisan team is built around a sense of family. We understand that true craftsmanship is not about gatekeeping techniques but about nurturing, preserving, and perfecting the skills passed down through generations. Sabina, the former head of the workshop, was instrumental in teaching Michael, our current owner, everything from stitching the stencils of our teddies to managing the team.

Having someone the artisans trust and know like family, at the helm, creates a safe and supportive environment where they can share any challenges, whether work-related or personal. This sense of trust and care translates directly into a productive and efficient team. It’s because of this ethos that our team feels comfortable sharing their struggles, knowing that they will be supported in finding a solution.

Supporting Change and Nurturing Growth

As part of the ongoing evolution of Lacorine, Antonia has played a pivotal role in helping Michael during the transition of leadership, assisting with everything from new documents to agreements. This support has been essential in creating a workplace where open dialogue and nurturing leadership can flourish.

Personal Experience: A Real-Life Example of Support

Recently, a valued member of our team came to Antonia and disclosed a personal hardship. She shared that she was struggling with the physical and emotional demands of overseeing production and managing the team but didn’t want to leave work entirely. In response, Antonia was able to create a new role that suited her current needs: designing and creating clothes for the teddy bears. This more leisurely task provides a space for her to remain involved in the team, keeps her mind sharp, and ensures that she can continue doing what she loves in a less demanding role.

This adjustment not only helps the team member stay connected but also offers the kind of support that makes Lacorine more than just a workplace. It’s a place where employees are encouraged to stay close to those they hold dear, find balance, and thrive, no matter the challenges they face.

Introducing New Clothes for Our Teddy Bears

As part of our ongoing commitment to creativity and craftsmanship, we’re excited to announce a new product range of clothes for our teddy bears coming soon to Lacorine. Designed with the same attention to detail and care as our beloved teddy bears, these adorable outfits add a special touch to every bear. These new clothes are perfect for personalising your teddy bear and making them even more charming; the perfect gift for our teddy bear lovers, young and old.

The Lacorine Family: Always There for You

At Lacorine, we don’t believe in forgetting about people once they move on. Our commitment to supporting each member extends beyond the workplace, and we pride ourselves on being there for our team through the ups and downs. Whether celebrating victories or offering a hand when life becomes challenging, the Lacorine family is always here.

We’re proud of the supportive, family-oriented culture we’ve created, and we’re committed to ensuring that our team members continue to feel valued, heard, and cared for, no matter what life brings their way.
