Lucia Fur Trimmed Alpaca Cape Coat
One piece, two ways to wear it. Left open, the Lucia is a loose, easy cape that falls from the shoulders. With the belt tied, it becomes a coat, drawn in at the waist with a neater line for town. Clasps beneath the arms give it a sleeve on each side, so it moves like a coat while keeping the drape of a cape, and two pockets keep hands warm.
Made in Peru from a soft cloth of baby alpaca and wool, it is trimmed with deep alpaca fur around the collar, down the front and at each cuff, and fastens with covered buttons down the front. Baby alpaca is the fleece from an adolescent alpaca's very first shearing, and it is prized because these are the softest fibres an alpaca ever produces. The fur comes only from natural herd loss, from alpacas that die of natural causes during the harsh Andean winters. No alpaca is ever raised or taken for its fur.
Made for women who want one outer layer for every kind of day, it goes loose over a chunky jumper for a country walk and belted over a dress for an evening out. The belt comes off completely, so the cape and the coat are both there whenever they are needed.

Items in stock are dispatched the same day on weekday orders placed before 3pm UK time. Orders placed after 3pm, or at the weekend, are dispatched on the next working day. Orders placed on a bank holiday are dispatched within two working days of the holiday.
If an item is out of stock, we can usually make it to order. Many pieces in the Lacorine collection are made in limited numbers and colours, and some take considerable time to make. Production times vary, so we will contact you with an estimated dispatch date before we go ahead.
Alpaca is one of the most sought-after natural fibres in the world, and it grows in 22 natural shades, from white and champagne through fawn and caramel to deep brown, grey and black. Every piece in our collections is made from alpaca raised in the high Andes of Peru.

Together we design, make and sell alpaca garments and accessories of the highest quality, drawing on Peruvian textile traditions. The alpacas come first: they are shorn, never harmed, and our fur comes only from animals lost to the hard Andean winters. Our work supports sustainable alpaca farming, so these traditions carry on with the next generation of herders and makers.
