This year, Lacorine won't be discounting for Black Friday. Instead, we’d like to ask for your support as we try to do something a little different.

When you purchase from Lacorine you aren’t just buying a piece of clothing, you are also playing a key role in supporting the artisans working with us from traditional communities high in the Andes. Our prices support our fair-trade commitments to our family of workers in Peru and reflect the effort, labour, time and skilled artistry that go into creating each beautiful item in our collection. It is no lie to say that these pieces are individually handmade with love, just for you.

This year, as the cost-of-living crisis devastates Peru’s already faltering economy, we hope we can count on your continuing support for their work.
And more than this, we would like to ask for your support to help break the cycle of persistent inequality in Peru.

How you can help Lacorine do Black Friday differently in 2022

This Black Friday, Lacorine are partnering with the Amantani UK charity, whose work supports the education of indigenous young people in the Peruvian Andes. By enabling youth to access high-quality education and fair employment, Amantani help to stimulate social development for Peru’s rural communities.
LACORINE WILL DONATE TO AMANTANI UK 10% FROM ALL ONLINE PURCHASES MADE BETWEEN BLACK FRIDAY & CYBER MONDAY 2022 (November 25-28 2022 inclusive)  Amantani UK is registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales Charity Registration N° 1131489

These donations will go to giving talented young men and women like 27-year-old Marleni (seen here on her graduation day) their chance.
Born in rural Carhuis, Marleni was told by her father that she wouldn’t continue to further education because she’s a girl. But with Amantani’s support, Marleni overcame gender discrimination to achieve a triple first, becoming the first person in her family, the first woman in her family and the first woman in her community to go to university.

In March this year, Marleni began teaching at a secondary school near Machu Picchu, earning double the national minimum wage and with access to healthcare and a pension.
This is a cause very close to my heart, for, like Marleni, I was once a girl growing up in a rural Peruvian community, and I, too, experienced first-hand the transformative power of education thanks to the support of people who believed in me.

Let's make Black Friday Bright Friday together

So here’s to donating, not discounting. Together, let’s make Black Friday a very Bright Friday for Marleni and her generation.
As always, thank you for your support, my dear friends.
